Welcome!
I'm Michael, a game/systems designer from the U.K. As a generalist, I can learn and adapt quickly to build and balance features into the best experience for players so they have a memorable and enjoyable time. I also like to keep learning about other areas of game dev to help me better collaborate with other disciplines, in particular I am learning about 3D modelling and VFX in my spare time!
I previously worked professionally within the commercial banking & finance sector but decided it wasn't something I really wanted to pursue as a career, so I began learning game development as a hobby. Eventually, I finished all my studies and have a MA in Game Development (Design) with a Distinction and a BSc in Computer Games Programming with a 1st-Class Honours.
My dissertation for my BSc achieved a 90% overall mark, making it not only the best dissertation mark within my Computer Games Programming cohort, but also joint 2nd for the highest mark against 271 students enrolled on a Level 6 Computer Science course at the university.
Most people who know me within the games world will likely mention my love for animals and may either refer to me as "the peacock guy" or "the duck designer". If you want to know why, feel free to ask me and I'll be happy to share my various pet and animal stories! 🦚
